Studio Gascoigne is now part of Walkers
Walker Group Architects and Studio Gascoigne have merged, bringing together a practice that has been designing buildings in New Zealand since 1932 and one that spent thirty years at the front of New Zealand retail and interior design.
Mark Gascoigne, who founded Studio Gascoigne, is now a director and owner of Walker Group Architects. He describes the thinking behind the merger simply: "It's all about delivering the whole experience: the building's shell, the interior and the landscape. I think that's where clients actually need designers to go."
In practice that means a combined team of architects, interior designers and technicians under one roof, an interior drawn knowing how it meets the architecture, and a building taken from its structure through to the fitout without a change of hands in the middle.
